Description
Christmas is coming, and Danny’s father is away digging for gold. So Danny writes him a letter: “Dear Pa, I wish you would come home for Christmas.” But the snow is so deep that no one wants to carry the mail – no one except Snowshoe Thompson. “You can count on me, ” he says, “I can make it.” Many people think he’s crazy to attempt such a trip – but Danny knows better: You can count on Snowshoe Thompson!
One winter John Thompson skis across the Sierra Nevada Mountains and creates a path upon which mail and people may travel, thus earning his nickname “Snowshoe Thompson.”
